Good day. Actually, as you can see from the title, I want to talk a little about Dead Space 3.

When the 1st part came out, I didn’t follow the project. I played it by accident. Well, that’s how it goes? Tried it and got stuck. I’m a big fan of Sci-Fi. And then there’s Sci-Fi, and horror too. Poor engineer, alone in space, in the dark corridors of the ship. Moans of metal, drops of water, rustling in dark corners and treacherous shadows. It was fun 🙂

"First" Clark 🙂

I was already watching and waiting for the release of the 2nd part. And he also plunged with pleasure into the brainchild of the Veskarials. Some people didn’t like the 2nd part, they say there’s not enough horror. I cannot disagree with them, the game has become more dynamic, Clark has become mobile, he was more happy to shoot lead at enemies and more. There are also more minor characters. I like the last one. Because they allow you to reveal the character of the main character, help move the plot, etc.

And finally the 3rd https://flashdashcasino.co.uk/withdrawal/ part came out (and I got my hands on it yesterday). I completed half of it (53.8%). I play on the very difficulty level (“incredible” in the Russian version, by the way, it has untranslated dialogues, which is a definite plus for me). About a third of the game takes place in space, and then there’s that snowy planet.

The engine produces a cool picture. The game also has amazing animation.

How can you be scary in games?? Suddenly jumping out monsters coupled with a characteristic sharp sound. Or scare with the “unknown”, as was the case in the 1st F.E.A.R. But horror is not only moments like these, it is also a special atmosphere. An atmosphere of constant nervousness, nerves are always tense.

Dead Space 3 has that vibe. It hasn’t spoiled or evaporated. But there are no scary moments in the game. For me no. Maybe I’m just used to it, maybe others aren’t scared either. But sudden attacks from the ceiling, floor and walls are not scary. Because being in such an atmosphere, you are always waiting for a catch. He entered the room, threw stools into the corpses, and collected everything he had with the help of kinecta kinesis and only after that, slowly move forward.
Is it bad? I think no, it’s not bad. Seriously, scare me for the 3rd time with corpses standing up, breaking through walls, etc? “So why not scare with something else, for example with the unknown?». Because they have an established concept. There are no ghosts in their universe, there are no “unknown forces”. That’s why I think veskarial are great. They withstood the atmosphere, the sounds are still intense, you still huddle and shudder when wandering through the dark corridors of the ship or in the basements of stations on the planet. I was quite pleased with the snow storm, when visibility was literally a couple of meters and opponents “emerged” from it.

The gameplay itself has undergone minor changes. For example, you can only carry 2 guns with you, but each gun usually consists of 2 barrels.

For example, my option is a shotgun + flamethrower. I won’t talk about assembling a cannon, it’s a fun activity, there are a lot of combinations. Of course, not all of them are at least somehow useful and necessary, but even from what remains there is plenty to choose from (resources are sorely lacking 🙂 ).
Ammo type is now the same for everyone. At the beginning of the game there are no problems with ammunition, but the deeper you go into the forest, the greater the shortage.

The plot is still interesting (to me at least). I read every post I find. Sometimes you come across such great pieces 🙂

I’ll spoil it a little. As in any self-respecting plot, there is a love line in the game. Not even a line – a triangle. Which undoubtedly allows the creators to reveal previously unknown character traits of the hero. Minor characters are now given a significant role (and Carver is generally on par with Clark in the co-op).

In conclusion. Dead Space 3 shouldn’t be considered a horror game. This is an atmospheric TPS, with simple puzzles, a solid plot and an already formed concept. I (as having gone through parts 1 and 2 several times) really like the “growth” of the main character. He goes from “afraid-of-everything-panicking-everywhere-and-always” to a man with balls. And this is a completely logical change. Well, when you hang out in the company of necromorphs for several years, I think you stop being afraid of them (well, or almost 🙂 ).
I’m happy with the game. Of course, I would like more “scary” moments, but the “new” Dead Space also has its advantages. And there are quite a few of them.
Thank you for your attention 🙂
